Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th October 2008 Briefing 10.30 First Race 11am The Whitwell sailing centre at Rutland Water is the home of the Rutland Marathon which is run twice a year in May and November. Rutland water is one of the most popular sailing venues in the Uk. Our hosts The Rutland Watersports Centre always make us most welcome and the shop offers a wide range of fashionable clothing. Also available at the watersports shop are the shower and changing facilities. A cafe and public toilets are also available at the venue. The lake is surrounded by grassy banks and with ample parking this is the ideal windsurfing venue. There is a camp site nearby, contact the watersports centre on 01780-460154. (Both days will count to the Midlands Series. For your results to be included in the Midlands Series Event, you will have needed to have qualified for the Overall Midland series in 2007 by sailing 5 races or more, or have already sailed in a Midland event this year.) Anyone may enter regardless of this qualification. Series scores will be based on extracted positions. No weight groups, no age divisions other than team 15, no gender divisions will apply. For this event overnight camping will be permitted on Saturday night, for those who want to make a weekend of it. However you must park on the hard stands not the grass and tents are not permitted. The cost is £5.00 which will be collected at the race office on Sunday morning. Our thanks to The watersports centre for allowing parking and for reducing the rate considerably, please take the up most care, so that we will be welcomed again.
